UBC Infant Hearing Study

June 24, 2011 / 0 Comments

I have eagerly participated in a few studies now at UBC Infant Studies Centre over the past year with my daughter.  I find the studies so interesting.  Usually the researchers discuss some of the results with you after you participate.  I love helping out.  I recently became aware of another research study involving infants.

The UBC Pediatric Audiology Lab is conducting research on hearing in infants.  The lab is currently recruiting infants with normal hearing, who are under the age of 20 months, to participate in their hearing studies. Results from these studies will help fill in the gaps of what we know about how babies hear and also may help to improve current clinical methods of testing hearing in young infants.  Hearing screening results are shared with the parents and an honorarium is provided. Results from this study may improve current clinical methods and help with early diagnosis of hearing loss in infants.
