West Side Music Together: Bringing Harmony Home

October 4, 2011 / 0 Comments

Can Mommy & Daddy sing? Ummm, no.  Daddy can possibly get away with singing in the shower, however Mommy knows she can not, eeeps! West Side Music Together is 45 minutes of PURE FUN with your child every week! You'll also find bells of all sorts, triangles, train whistles, shakers, rhythm sticks, kitchen instruments, scarves, giant sheets to hide under and instruments galore! Music Together is an early childhood music program for children birth-kindergarten & their parents and caregivers. Families in over 2000 communities worldwide participate in Music Together's parent-child & preschool classes. Little Bahoonie is 17 months old and picked up the tamborine all on her own in her first class. Dancing and humming along, interacting with the other kids.  Best of all, it's close to home!  The program is offered at numerous locations, but please note is fills up quick as it is very popular.  We signed up 2 days after registration and was first on the wait list, luckily we got in a few days before the first class.  We were given 3 CD's and a DVD to play at home.  The CD's are amazing!  Some songs are cutesy but some are actually really nice to listen to (Train Is a-Comin' Song, Greensleeves).  The singers have lovely voices.  If your child is exposed to music they will learn to develop their tone, much like swimming classes help a child become stronger with practice.  Two thumbs up from Baby Bahoonie!  Find out if Music Together is offered in your area or in the Vancouver area.
